After Disney completed the control over Hulu in May, the resources of Walt Disney Television are being taken to the development of comedy and original drama at Hulu, in a team made up of the two entities, reported Variety.

One of the changes is that Craig Erwich, SVP of Scripted Originals at Hulu, will no longer report to Randy Freer, CEO of Hulu, but to Dana Walden, director of Disney Television Studios and ABC Entertainment.

Erwich and his team will continue from Santa Mónica directing the planning, development, and implementation of the originals with a script for Hulu’s comedies and dramatic series.

“As Hulu advances towards its ambitious subscriber goals and commitments, it is important to tap as much as possible into the creative resources and production capabilities of Disney Television Studios, that is among the best in the world,” said Freer in a statement, and added that Erwich and his team have created a “vast and awarded programming list” for the streaming service.

The original non-scripted programming team at Hulu, the original film development team, and the live content and licensed on-demand acquisition teams will remain in the same place and continue reporting to Freer, who will keep supervising the business and general operations of Hulu. Freer reports to Kevin Mayer, Director of Direct-to-Consumer and International at Disney.
