WAPA-TV renews deal for exclusive over-the-air broadcast rights to MLB games in Puerto Rico

WAPA Television and Major League Baseball (MLB) have extended their partnership in a multi-year agreement to televise games, with exclusive Jewel Event game coverage, in Puerto Rico on WAPA2 Deportes, the station’s 24-hour dedicated sports channel.WAPA2 Deportes will televise up to four regular season games per week, as well as the MLB All-Star Game, the Division Series, the League Championship Series, and the World Series. All postseason games, including the World Series and the 83rd MLB All-Star Game, will be televised in Puerto Rico exclusively on WAPA2 Deportes.Upcoming broadcast coverage includes the New York Yankees against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Friday, April 13, live at 1:05pm, as well as the New York Mets against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, April 15, live at 1:05pm. “Baseball is a favorite sport among Puerto Ricans and we’re happy to continue our partnership with Major League Baseball to offer the most extensive MLB coverage in Puerto Rico.
