WGBO Univision Chicago launches newscasts in HD with new set

Univision Communications announced that WGBO Univision Chicago launched its newscasts in high definition (HD) coupled with a new set.“We are pleased to kick off the year with a brand new set for our local news. To complement the regular programming we already offer in HD, these efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to deliver quality news and programming to Chicago’s fastest growing community,” said Carlos San José, SVP and general manager, Univision Chicago. WGBO Univision Chicago is the only Spanish-language station in the market with newscasts airing seven days a week. Anchored by Jorge Barbosa and Angélica Atondo, Noticias Univision Chicago airs at both 5pm and 10pm. “It is important for our station to remain ahead of the curve when it comes to reporting news to our viewers. With this new set, our HD capabilities and our incredibly talented news staff, we are able to achieve this on a daily basis,” states Marisol Seda, News director at WGBO.
