Willie Lora named news director of CNN en Español

Willie Lora has been named news director of CNN en Español, the leading Spanish-language news channel. The appointment was announced by Eduardo Suárez, CNN en Español’s VP of programming. Lora had been chief of bureau for the network in Washington D.C., and he will be relocated to Atlanta to assume his new position. As the news director of CNN en Español, Lora will be the principal executive for CNN en Español’s news content. He’ll be responsible for the planning, strategy and execution of news content, as well as the prioritization of coverage and the editorial vision of the network. “Willie brings a proven leadership and an immeasurable experience to his new position,” Suárez commented. “I’m sure that Willie’s ready to assume the new challenges and opportunities that are to come.” Lora has headed important political coverage of the US on CNN en Español, and has been the leading professional of two of the network’s programs: Directo USA and Choque de Opiniones.
