In 2013, Zodiak Latino experienced significant growth with the addition of new clients. Some of the most noteworthy projects of last year include the fourth season of Next Top Model for Sony -this year they’ll be producing a fifth season-, and for the new primetime of Televisa Channel 5 in Mexico, Zodiak is producing Karaoke, Canta y No Te Rajes, the second season of which they’re also consulting for.At a pan-regional level, for Discovery Home & Health, Zodiak produced Desafío Fashionista, and it’s currently in conversations for a second season.Juan Maldonado, Chief Creative Officer of Zodiak Latino, told PRODU that for 2014 they are preparing two new formats for the primetime of Televisa Channel 5: Vas Con Todo (Deal With It) and Rude Tube (working title).Another new client is Univisión, with which Zodiak Latino produced the documentary Narcotec, currently in post-production and scheduled to air this year.Maldonado said that Zodiak Americas (Zodiak Brasil, Zodiak US and Zodiak Latino), is now more integrated than ever. The fact that Zodiak Latino’s mother company is L.A.–based Zodiak US, has facilitated the expansion of the division. At Natpe 2014, Zodiak Latino will offer Grab It, Hold It And Count It. “This format was originally launched at Mipcom, but it is now more consolidated. Several Latin American countries have shown interest and it has been offered to several territories worldwide. It’s one of the large studio formats we’ll be offering,” added Maldonado. This will be Zodiak’s fourth Natpe, but only the third one since its consolidation as Zodiak Latino.“Natpe is a very important marketplace for us, because the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets have the most potential. We look to have large projects in Colombia and Peru, and hope we can close these deals at this year’s Natpe,” added Maldonado.
