JK Media Group has begun preproduction on the third season of Foodie on the Go for ViX in the U.S. and Latin America. The new season will expand from six to 10 episodes, with plans to feature more locations in Mexico and across the U.S.

“We’ve had a very good response from the ViX audience. This season, we may internationalize the project even further, with more episodes in Mexico and greater diversity of locations across the U.S.,” Sebastián Jiménez, CEO of JK Media Group, told PRODU.

Jiménez said the company is also exploring brand integrations to help make the production sustainable from a budget standpoint.

“We know Chiquis’ strength is the 18-to-37-year-old audience, and a large portion is bilingual. That’s what makes this project unique. We speak to the U.S. Hispanic audience, but also to Mexicans, because she travels through a world connected to both countries. That’s our edge: This is truly a bicultural project,” he said.

NINEL CONDE LEADS NEW SIN FILTRO EDITION

Jiménez also discussed the latest edition of the Sin Filtro franchise, dedicated to Ninel Conde. He described the singer and actress as a strong fit for the format, which offers public figures an opportunity to share a more personal side of their lives.

“Ninel is a very successful businesswoman with her hands in many businesses, while continuing to be a singer and actress. With Sin Filtro, we’re able to see another side of these personalities and their day-to-day lives,” he said.

JK Media Group expects to develop additional editions in 2027 in partnership with ViX. The selection process focuses on personalities who are highly visible in Mexico and have reach across Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market.

“We look for people who are current, active and have things to say that they haven’t shared before. We bring ViX five, six or seven names, explain why we believe they could work, and then get their feedback. It’s a team effort,” Jiménez said.

JK MEDIA GROUP EXPANDS INTO VERTICAL CONTENT

The company is also expanding its development slate into vertical content. Jiménez and executive producer Flavio Morales announced the initiative during the most recent LA Screenings.

JK Media Group produced two vertical series in March and April for ViX’s ViX MicrO platform, with announcements expected soon. The company is also developing additional projects featuring both emerging and established music artists.

“We believe the vertical market will be the future over the next five years. It’s growing worldwide, and we want to be part of that growth,” Jiménez said.

While vertical productions typically operate with lower budgets than traditional streaming or broadcast fiction, Jiménez sees significant growth potential, including co-productions in English and Spanish.

The company’s presence in Los Angeles, Mexico and Colombia also provides flexibility to manage production costs. Jiménez added that brand integrations could create additional revenue opportunities beyond traditional production financing.

“We’re developing ways to incorporate different monetization models—not only the original production budget, but also by bringing brands into the equation,” he said.
