For just over a year, Mary ‘Pepper’ Pimienta, executive producer and CEO of BaseCamp Entertainment, has been successfully developing her TV production services unit. BaseCamp Entertainment, headquartered in New York, has been operating for over three years.Pimienta, who is known for successfully representing commercial directors in the U.S. Hispanic market, has expanded into television production and already has under her belt several projects such as novelas, realities and TV series.“These services are a division of BaseCamp, which has grown significantly to my surprise. We have experience in production and can offer competitive rates because we have all our services aligned. Our services start when we receive a script, and we look for locations, cast talent, hire crew, rent gear, hotels,” said Pimienta to PRODU.BaseCamp has collaborated with RCN (Allá Te Espero), with FoxTelecolombia (El Capo, season 3), FOX International Channels/Buenos Aires (the reality Novia A Los 40 for FOX Life), among others.Additionally, BaseCamp has two original productions in development: a documentary and a talk show.“We are already developing the concept with the celebrity to pitch the idea to networks. It’s a weekly talk show in Spanish offering self-help tips and relationship advice. The target demographic is men and women 25-45,” she explained. The documentary, directed by Pimienta herself, deals with aging and the contrast in values between the Hispanic culture and the Anglo culture.
