BBC World News and Sky announce a new arrangement in which the BBC’s international 24-hour news channel will be offered to subscribers across Latin America – a deal brokered by Castalia Communications, an international media development company and exclusive BBC World News representative in Latin America.

BBC World News is now available as part of Sky’s programming lineup in Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Available on channel number 1620, Sky subscribers with the Platinum, HBO and Black packages can now access BBC World News.

Available in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide, BBC World News broadcasts bulletins with the latest news, business, sport and weather, as well as leading current affairs, documentary and lifestyle programming, including flagship programs such as HARDtalk, Click, The Travel Show and Talking Movies.

Will Lesley, director of Marketing and Distribution for News, BBC Studios USA, commented, “BBC World News is one of the world’s most trusted international news channels, delivering impartial and in-depth analysis of the stories that matter most around the globe. We know that audiences in Latin America value being able to access the BBC’s world-class journalism.”

“We are very excited about this agreement with Sky since it allows it to provide valuable content to its viewers and also allows us to considerably expand the distribution of our client BBC World News,” said Miguel Torres-Bohl, Castalia Communications Sales and Marketing VP for Latin America.
