Carolina Rivera, writer and president of Mexican distribution company Corazón Films, confirmed to PRODU the production of Casa Colorada, the first original fiction for the prime time of Cadenatres of Mexico. “Indeed, this is our first production: Casa Colorada. We’re very happy and excited because it is a different story that combines the genres of telenovelas and TV series. The story revolves around three friends - Julia, Aranza and Sandra-, who co-own a boutique hotel in Valle de Bravo. Each week, different guests arrive at the hotel, allowing us to tell every week a different story that affects our characters radically. Julia, the lead character, is a contemporary, hard-working young woman who converted the house she inherited from her mother into a unique boutique hotel. With her girlfriends and business partners, she will fight to keep the business afloat and will discover the meaning of true love,” Rivera told PRODU. She owns Corazón Films with her husband, director and producer Fernando Sariñama. Rivera is known as one of the most creative, innovative and prolific writers is Mexico. Her stories for TV and film have been successful in Mexico and have crossed over to the U.S., such as the Son La Alegría Del Hogar books she wrote for Televisa. They were acquired by Lifetime for adaptation for the U.S. general market under the title Devious Maids, already in its second season.
