Dori Media Group (DMG) sold the telenovela Argentina, Tierra de Amor y Venganza to Contents Seven, one of the most important Japanese TV and film distributors. The deal was closed at the Asia TV Forum (ATF) 2021.

Contents Seven -who acquired 60 episodes- will launch the series with subtitles in Japanese. The premiere is scheduled for mid-2022 on channel J: COM’s LaLa TV.

Set between the 1930s and 1940s, the story is about the life of some European immigrants in Buenos Aires. A betrayal sparks an epic love story across two continents. The cast is made up of: Delfina Chaves, Albert Baro, Gonzalo Heredia, Benjamín Vicuña and María Eugenia Suárez, of Argentine-Japanese descent. It will be the first Argentine telenovela to be released in Japan.

Produced by Polka Producciones, Argentina, Tierra de Amor y Venganza, was one of the most viewed shows in Argentina in 2019, broadcast on eltrece, from the media conglomerate Artear.

“We have no doubt that the series will be well received by the Japanese public, following its success in Argentina. We are also very satisfied with our new relationship with Contents Seven, which we trust will continue in the future,” said Nadav Palti, CEO and president of DMG.

“Contents Seven is committed to building bridges between cultures. The acquisition of Argentina, Tierra de Amor y Venganza is proof of our mission. As audiences around the world demand more high-quality content, we are delighted to be working with Dori Media to bring this historic series to the Japanese market. We are confident that viewers will enjoy this successful story, the first series of its kind in Japan,” added Sung Chilryong, president of Contents Seven.
