The Entidad De Gestión De Los Productores Audiovisuales (Egeda), which operates in Spain and several Latin American countries, signed a collaboration agreement with the City of Miami to promote economic initiatives and investment of the audiovisual industries in Spain, Latin America and the U.S.: film, television, internet, and cable and satellite distribution. The deal, signed in Miami under the sponsorship of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (Camacol), will facilitate audiovisual production between the U.S., Spain and Latin America, and leverage several cities as locations, offering resources to producers through the Miami Film Commission as well as the different local producer associations and film commissions Egeda will engage throughout Latin America and Spain. The deal will create new production, co-production and distribution opportunities between the audiovisual industries in the U.S., Latin America and Spain, generating new jobs. An important aspect of the collaboration is the creation of immersion programs for the film industry, which will create synergies between producers of different nationalities. Egeda announced this agreement at the second annual Egeda/Fipca Spanish American Conference, which took place in Medellin November 26-28.
