Entrepreneur, producer and actor Alejandro De Hoyos: This is one of the best moments for Latinos

Alejandro De Hoyos, a successful businessman, actor, and producer, based in Los Angeles, hopes to devote more of his time to productions for Hispanics. “This is one of the best moments for Latinos. I think that in recent years more Latinos have been hired and there are more roles for Latinos,” he said.

Some of his recent projects are the films The Man from Toronto (2022) with Kevin Hart and Trigger Warning with Jessica Alba (2022), both for Netflix. He will also be producing, under Alta California Pictures – which he founded in 2016 -, The Unexpected by director Alejandro Montoya Marín, protégé of director Robert Rodríguez (From Dusk till Dawn, Machete) and that will begin filming in February. “It is an action comedy, something different from what I have done in the past,” he said.

The Unexpected will be the second film of his company, the first was El Contratista, an action film in which De Hoyos displays his kickboxer skills. He has produced several live and televised kickboxing competitions.

He recently participated in Free Dead or Alive (2021) along with Robert Avellanet, Eddy Ganem, and Patricia Velásquez. In December, he guest-starred in the second season of Bosch: Legacy of Amazon’s Freevee.

De Hoyos has done more than 200 commercials, including one for Northwestern Mutual directed by the Mexican, Emmanuel Lubezki, also known as “Chivo.”
