14 de agosto de 2014

ESPN Deportes ranks as the most-watched Spanish-language sports network among Hispanics 18-49 in the four weeks following the FIFA World Cup final (July 14 - August 10). During this time, the network also out-delivered its closest competitor by more than 21% in Hispanic 18-49 impressions, becoming the only Spanish-language sports network with year-over-year growth following the World Cup. The growth was driven by the exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the 2014 Guinness International Champions Cup (ICC), the Liga BBVA Bancomer MX and the network’s news and information programming. The 2014 ICC reached a total of 1.7 million Hispanics – up 25% from last year’s coverage of the tournament. Over the 13 matches, the 2014 ICC on ESPN Deportes averaged a 0.30 Hispanic household US rating – up 50% from last year (and up 100% in P18-34), with 123,000 Hispanic viewers (P2+). On August 2, the Manchester United vs. Real Madrid match was the highest-rated match of the tournament with a 1.4 Hispanic Household US rating and 307,000 Hispanic viewers (P2+); it is also the third most-watched telecast on ESPN Deportes thus far this year (#1 is Copa del Rey on 4/16 with a 3.1 HH and #2 is Liga MX Tijuana vs. America on 1/10 with a 1.5 HH). The network’s coverage of the Liga MX Torneo de Apertura is averaging a 0.6 Hispanic Household US rating (through seven matches) – up 20% compared to last year.
