After the cancellation of live sports events globally due to the pandemic, starting May 4 at 10pm, ESPN launches a new programming segment: ESPN Cine & Series, which will air every day with productions from The Walt Disney Studios and 20th Century Studios related with the sport. From Monday to Friday there will be launches, and on Saturdays and Sundays, marathons.

“This initiative reaffirms the permanent commitment to offering the content of the highest quality to all Latin America. ESPN is already known by fans for bringing excellent sports documentaries in their series ESPN: 30 for 30, and will now bring fans fiction related to sports,” expressed Michael Walters, VP Programming & Acquisitions Latin America, ESPN.

The first fiction of this segment will be El César, a bioseries on the former Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez. It is a co-production between Disney Latin America, BTF, and TV Azteca. In 2017 it was aired on Turner´s Space as the first window and in 2018 on Azteca Uno.
