ESPN Mexico: We produce from Mexico about 11,000 hours a year

During a tour around ESPN Mexico’s studios, in the framework of the celebration of Women’s Week and the launch of the ESPN W initiative, Roberto Miramontes, Facility Manager of ESPN Mexico, said that 11,000 hours a year are produced from these facilities, which will arrive at their third anniversary on December 2018.

“We begin with the first show at 8am and finish with the last show at 1am (Mexico time) which means that between 5am to 2am people are coming and going, almost 24/7. We have grown exponentially. We are already considering adding two floors. In Latin America, there is no other building with the technology that we have here. Our headquarters are in Bristol, Connecticut and our building works as if it were there thanks to technology” he said.

He explained that the look & feel of the studios is the same as those of ESPN in the US and this is done because if at some point they wanted to do US shows in Mexico, it can be done easily.

The ESPN Mexico facilities include four studios and four voice over cabins that allow for four shows done simultaneously. In Studio A, SportsCenter is produced and in Studio B are produced ESPN AM, Los Capitanes, previews of the Champions League, A Los Golpes and NFL Red Zone.
