Ivan Stoilkovich, EVP Television Programming at Estrella Media, commented that the studios located in Los Angeles, USA, are closed for entertainment production since March 16. “Our priority is to keep our personnel safe,” he said, after commenting that they only produce news.

“We are expanding our coverage to include three additional hours of national news programs specialized on COVID-19 per day,” he said. He mentioned that in those cases where there is personnel in the studios, they use the best social distancing and hygiene in the aim to keep all the essential personnel safe while they are working on their facilities.

He explained that the news and on-air broadcasting are what maintain personnel at the site and to the maximum possible extent, they are shifting to remote working in the other areas in which this is possible, including post-production.

“Like most companies these days, on EstrellaTV we have adopted videoconferences to communicate with our production teams and other teams that can work from home. We are working with Zoom, file transfer applications such as Dropbox, WeTransfer and Hightail for editing and post-production,” he said.

He explained that they made changes in their production calendar and launch dates and had to delay the start of the 22nd season of Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento due to the uncertainty of when they will start operations in the studio. “We are monitoring the situation daily and will make adjustments according to the requirements of the situation,” he said.
