Globoplay will reach the US in 2020 with a version for Brazilians who live in the country

Globo plans to launch Globoplay, its OTT platform, in the US in 2020. Sources from the company commented that the launch is part of Globo´s strategy to approach all its audiences.  

“It will be an adapted version for the Brazilian audience that lives in the US. They will offer catch up and live streaming from the channel Globo Internacional that is seen in the country,” they assured.

In the US there are currently around 4 million Brazilians.

Globo has six other international channels (one in the Americas, one in Europe, two channels in Africa and two in Portugal) that today add 3 million subscribers.
