CentroAméricaTV recently reached 14 years of broadcasting in the US, with a wide coverage on traditional platforms and committed to supporting the OTT strategies of its affiliates.

“CentroAméricaTV has been in Sling since its launch and recently, along with all US cable channels of Hemisphere, it included in DIRECTV Now, reaffirming the channel’s value and appeal for a broad audience base,” said Francisco Giménez, SVP, and general manager of Cable Networks, Hemisphere Media Group.

The network, which introduced a new logo, broadcasting appearance, and graphics package, premiered its first completely original production, Inmigrantes: El Camino Hacia Un Sueño (Immigrants: The Road to a Dream), a weekly series filmed in Los Angeles. It’s focused on the arduous journey that many Central Americans undertake to go to live in the United States and shows the harsh reality they face once they arrive.

Asked about the US Hispanic outlook of the niche networks such as CentroAméricaTV, Giménez said that they are thrilled about the continued increase of Hispanic cable subscribers, “especially because the general market networks continue to be challenged by cable cutting. With all the recent migration, particularly from Central America, it is more important than ever to keep these niche ethnic groups connected to news, information, and entertainment coming from their countries of origin with channels such as CentroAméricaTV.”
