Imagina US acquires the rights of Serie del Caribe for five years

Imagina US announced the acquisition of the exclusive broadcast rights in the U.S. of baseball’s Serie del Caribe for five years starting in 2012.This acquisition expands the catalog of sports rights held by Imagina US, which includes La Liga Española de Fútbol and the national soccer teams of El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.Televisión Dominicana, channel of Imagina US directed to the Dominican community in the U.S., will re-broadcast the games played by the Dominican national team.Imagina US is negotiating with different television, radio, Internet, and mobile phone companies for the exploitation of these important rights.“We are very satisfied with this new rights exploitation agreement with the Confederación de Béisbol del Caribe (Caribbean Baseball Federation), which reasserts our commitment with the Hispanic community in the U.S. and all sports fans in general,” said Fabio Tordin, VP of Sports Rights Exploitation of Imagina US. La Serie del Caribe is the most important baseball event of the winter season, where winning teams from the leagues of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Venezuela compete. The next Serie del Caribe will take place in the Dominican Republic from February 2nd to the 7th of 2012.
