Imagina US and Juan Camilo Ferrand, one of the most prolific screenwriters in Spanish-language television, jointly announced the launch of The Story Nest, a new company that will develop scripted content in Spanish for the U.S. and Latin America. Under the terms of the agreement, Ferrand, alongside a team of experienced writers, will create and develop telenovelas, series and super series while Imagina US will manage, sell and lead production and distribution efforts for the new venture. Already, The Story Nest boasts a line-up of scripted projects available to launch to the marketplace for broadcast, cable and SVOD platforms with plans to create and produce additional original and adapted productions in the near future. “We are confident that with the combination of Juan Camilo’s innate talent and Imagina US’s impeccable production track record The Story Nest is positioned for great success as the industry and audiences continue to demand higher quality content and superior production values,” said Roger Huguet, CEO of Imagina US. Ferrand has made a name for himself as the scriptwriter for major hits such as El Cartel, Las Muñecas De La Mafia and Pablo Escobar, El Patrón Del Mal which were huge hits for Caracol in Colombia and in the U.S. for Telemundo and TeleFutura (now UniMás); in Mexico, all three projects performed incredibly well on Unicable. Most recently Ferrand wrote Pasión Prohibida, which aired on Telemundo. His latest project El Capitán, will air on MundoFOX in the U.S. later this year.
