Carlos Vasallo, president, and CEO of the channel América TV, based in Miami and with air distribution in Miami, New York, and Puerto Rico, announced on Wednesday, January 20, that they began the installation of an antenna to give better coverage and quality of their signal.

“Derived from an arrangement of frequencies that eliminated television antennas to provide greater capacity to cell phones, we were affected in the quality of the transmission of our signal, so we proceeded to request and buy from the Federal Communications Commission the only signal that went free in South Florida and today are taking the first step in the construction of a transmission tower here in our channel’s facilities,” said Vasallo.

The signal will be located 10 miles north of Hallandale, in the heart of the Hialeah Gardens, with greater penetration. Vasallo states that soon they will be able to tune in to the signal. “We hope this is on the first days of March”. With this new antenna and the one they have in the southeast of Miami, they claim they will cover the entirety of South Florida with digital quality and HD.

“Those TV viewers who did not see us in places such as Little Havana, Coral Gables, and even Miami Beach, will be able to tune us perfectly”.
The tower will be 200 feet high and will broadcast with 15 kilowatts of power.
