Luis Manzo, director at Telemundo Studios, has reached 30 years of professional life with more than 450,000 scenes directed during that period.”It is a privilege to have had contact 450 times with actors; it is a virtue, it has given me the ease to understand actors’ human condition, respect and take it into consideration”, Manzo told PRODU in a set north of Miami where the 130-episode telenovela Tierra de Reyes is being shot.As for the new genre that is now a trend: the superseries, his opinion is that “the more that people from cinema take part in the making of superseries, the more contributions there will be to this genre in all its areas: production, direction assistance, direction…”Regarding trust that the industry generates in a director with his experience, he pointed out: “I think that the solution a director with my experience can offer is that we have solved so many problems during this time, that we aren’t afraid of any problem. That is an added value for the occupation, that people feel you are trustworthy, that instead of causing trouble you solve it.”Another quality that Manzo said about directors has to do with a sense of humor. “You can never lose it”.
