El Zorro

NBC is developing a new contemporary version of the classical Zorro, now with a woman as the protagonist. The project is backed by a big creative team, co-written by Robert Rodríguez and Rebecca Rodríguez, and Sofía Vergara and Luis Balaguer from LatinWE, as well as Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens from Propagate. CBS Studios will co-produce together with Universal TV, as part of a preliminary agreement between CBS and Propagate, as mentioned by Deadline.

It will tell the story of Sola Domínguez, an underground artist that struggles for social justice. Her life is threatened by several criminal organizations after she exposed them.

Rebecca will be the director of this production. Likewise, the Rodríguez brothers are the executive producers, together with Silverman, Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Greg Lipstone and Jay Weisleder for Propagate, and Vergara and Balaguer for LatinWE, among others.
