Robustness and variety of their signals and the satisfaction proven by their clients are positive elements that encourage Mar Martínez-Raposo, director of Atresmedia Internacional, was a guest on the program #PRODUprimetime with Ríchard Izarra.

Martínez, who attended the interview from her home in Madrid where she is teleworking, commented that the paralyzation of the economies of many countries will represent a problem for upcoming months on pay TV.

“There are many cable operators who have opened their signals and even cheapened the packages so that the greatest possible number of people have access, but the income is lower and that in the end is going to reflect gradually. And then there have also been currency devaluations or lower prices of raw material that these countries export, which also affect their local economies. In each territory we will see how things turn out,” she mentioned and added that since it is a problem derived from the health crisis and not due to an economic element in itself, the recovery could be faster. “But in an immediate, a lot of people are going to lose their jobs and have less income. All of this is going to be reflected on pay TV,” she said.

She feels they are lucky because channels and content production have not stopped and their work can be done from home. “We are also counting on the support of our distributors in different countries. We are having many meetings and relations with our clients and making our channels grow effectively,” she ended.
