Sandra Smester new senior vice president of Programming for Univision

Univision Communications, Inc. named Sandra Smester senior vice president of Programming for the Univision Network. In this role she oversees the day-to-day scheduling and strategic positioning of all on-air content for Univision Network, one of the top five networks in the country regardless of language. She reports to Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content for Univision Networks, and is based in Miami. “Sandra is an extremely talented and accomplished media executive whose work ethic and programming experience have been instrumental to Univision Network’s success. Her passion for our content and our audience is evident in everything she does and is an inspiration for our teams,” said Ciurana.Since joining Univision 17 years ago, Smester has been instrumental in the Network’s success and growth. Her understanding of Spanish-language content and U.S. Hispanic audiences has helped drive the Network’s growth and reach important milestones.
