Spanglish Movies: Caribbean Cinemas and Pantaya reached an agreement to develop and produce the comedy series Líos de Familia

Gustavo Rodríguez Aparicio, the managing partner of Spanglish Movies LLC., announced an agreement for the co-development and co-production of comedy series, Líos de Familia (12×30′) between Caribbean Cinemas and Pantaya.

Rodríguez explained that the series is an IP of Caribbean Cinemas and the main talents are the Dominican comedians Raymond Pozo and Miguel Céspedes, the “Kings of humor”. The production will take place in the Dominican Republic by Caribbean Cinemas, and Pantaya has exclusive broadcasting rights for the United States and Puerto Rico. The directors are José “Pinky” Pintor and Frank Perozo.

For Rodríguez it is “the series in Spanish with the highest production value made in the Caribbean.” He said that there is very special care in the development of the scripts. The main screenwriter is Pintor. They have been in development for six months and will be ready in December.

Rodríguez, whose company provided the services of bringing the parties together, coordinating legal and financing issues, managing time, among other aspects; said that the objective is to bring value and quality with unique Caribbean products, either movies or series, that bring traffic and subscribers to the platform.
