Sony Pictures Television (SPT) presented on Monday the renewal of their flagship brand in Latin America, Canal Sony (now Sony Channel).

The channel presents a new visual identity in which Sony´s logo stands out in the design. As part of an effort to make the most of the vast collection of SPT´s premium content, Sony Channel will also launch renowned programs that are the property of SPT such as The Good Doctor, recently pronounced the most-watched television drama in the world in the Monte Carlo Television Festival.

“As we refocus our existing portfolio, we will delve deeper into Sony Picture´s robust film and entertainment content, airing on Sony Channel the programs the audiences in the region have come to love and introducing new and captivating content throughout the year,” said Alexander Marín, EVP of International Channels and Distribution for Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada at SPT.

September 2 Sony Channel will start to air the first season of The Good Doctor. Based on a homonymous Korean drama, the series follows the doctor Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism Savant syndrome who joins the surgical unit of a prestigious hospital.
