Telemundo: In the weeks ahead we will have a very high margin in relation with our competitors

Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Global Studios, reported in the preparation of the screening of Telemundo at NATPE, that in the upcoming weeks Telemundo will lead the audience with greater advantage: “We will close the second consecutive year as #1 and in the weeks ahead we will make a considerable leap that will give us a very high margin in relation with our competitors here thanks to the launches that are underway.”
Santana explained that they have worked very patiently, with a great deal of planning and effort on the launches for the start of 2019. “We already started with Exatlón, now with Jugar Con Fuego and next week we will launch a new series at 10pm, El Barón, for the first time it is musicalized, a soundtrack with all the music of the ’70s and 80´s”.
Jugar Con Fuego is the second premium series at Telemundo Global Studios, after El Recluso. It is an adaptation of Amores Roubados from Globo, for the US, shot in Colombia. El Barón is a co-production between Telemundo International Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
In the presentation of the screening of Telemundo Santana expressed that they have strengthened all the areas of Telemundo, not only the ones related with creatives and talent but also the ones for finances, legal, all of them so that this moment at Telemundo can become real. “Today it is a reality that we are making series that have the same quality or better than the ones that inspired us.”
As well as Jugar Con Fuego and El Barón, Telemundo presented Betty in NY, an adaptation of Yo Soy Betty, La Fea. “It was written more than 20 years ago by Gaitán. It has been adapted more than 40 times but none has been done in today´s world of the Internet, where bullying starts. It was entirely shot in New York and in our studios. This adaptation is going to engage.”
