Telemundo is the only Spanish-language broadcast to grow within election coverage viewership over 2008

Telemundo Media saw significant growth among viewership within key demographics for its primetime election night coverage over the network’s 2008 election night coverage. It reported increases of 30% within Total Viewers and 24% among Adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen.The network was the only Spanish-language broadcast station to expand its election coverage viewership over 2008. Univision saw decreases of 20% within Total Viewers and 26% among Adults 18 to 49 in comparison to its 2008 8 to 11pm programming. In the realm of social media, Telemundo was also the leading Spanish-language broadcast network obtaining .2 million mentions across Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, according to Trendrr Social TV.
