For Televisa, the focus of the business continues to be Mexico and the prioritary projects in development and investment are: Izzi y SKY -both telecommunications companies-, and their OTT platform: Blim, where they will bet on original and national content, expressed in conference Emilio Azcárraga, president of Grupo Televisa who also assured that the company is strong financially. “Telecommunications and Blim are the most important projects we have investment and work. We are growing a lot with Izzi in signal distribution, not just video but Internet. Izzi managed, with its low rates, to not only generate subscribers for the company but also for prices of connectivity to the Internet to lower in all Mexico”, he stated.Regarding the possible sale of SKY, he indicated that they have no intention of changing their participation in that company: “AT&T bought 42% of SKY which corresponded to DIRECTV, therefore now the participation is as follows: Televisa with 58% of SKY; AT&T with 42% and for now we are not going to change our participation in this sense”.As for Blim, he emphasized that his bet is on content produced in Mexico and not imported content: “We will prove that we are betting on all the content platforms. I trust the content produced in Mexico by Televisa and other producers”. He added that the company is strong economically and that there will be no structural cuts: “The last time we made cuts due to restructuring was in 1997, consisting in 25% of our work force, which we already recovered”.
