TGS: Up to 9 productions in 2021

Telemundo Global Studios (TGS) estimates making seven to nine productions this year. Marcos Santana, its president, highlighted that in 2020, still with the limitations of the pandemic, were capable of finishing four projects. Santana took part in the Telemundo Global Studios Screening: Unconditionally Brave presented by the actress Kate del Castillo, in the context of the first day of Natpe Virtual Miami 2021.

Santana highlighted that this year’s productions will be “amazing products with original stories and great stagings” and that they are working on great co-production with NBC Studios for projects in English, with NBCUniversal Global Distribution to expand the brand in markets outside Latin America.

He mentioned they are in the midst of the third season of La Reina del Sur. “The first Latin American production that brings a visual, acting, and story proposal that we have never seen before,” he detailed.

Sebastian Ortega, SVP and Creative Director of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, said they are coming with 20 new contents to be produced in Mexico, the US, and Argentina; including the new season of El Recluso, the remake of Historia de un Clan, and the thriller Diarios de un Gigoló.

The dramedy La Suerte de Loli, the drama Buscando a Frida, the series Malverde, el Santo Patrón, and the original dramedy for Peacock, Armas de Mujer, were presented.

Additionally, some talents and executives of the contents shown, such as Karen Barroeta and Miguel Varoni from Telemundo Global Studios, the director Carlos Villegas (Buscando a Frida), the actress Victoria White (Frida), the writer Ximena Cantuarias and Valeria Fiñana, production designer, were present.
