Tomás Yankelevich, EVP and Chief Content Officer of General Entertainment for Turner LatAm, was satisfied with the result after the strategy that Turner drew up to make original content thinking of the territories where they want to have greater influence. The bet, he states, is for these contents to succeed, mainly in markets where they were produced.

“Part of the strategy is to focus the content in each one of the countries where we generate the content. For example, Bronco, Amarres, La Muchacha Que Limpia are for Mexico. If they travel to the rest of the region on another platform or channel and work well, much better,” he explained.

Regarding their current production, they have Tu Parte del Trato, Developed by Dopamine from Mexico, but produced by Polka in Argentina. In Mexico they launched this week Bronco, with Plataforma and Comarex; they finished the production of Amarres with Dopamine, and are in the middle of the production of La Muchacha Que Limpia, with BTF Media.

Being owners of the IP is also part of the strategy because it allows them to continue being successful in the pay-TV business and with the possibility of evolving to the rhythm in which the industry changes.

“Since we started producing all these contents, we have the license, either to sell them to a third party and obviously generate income based on those sales or to reuse them ourselves on the platforms on which we are interested in airing them,” he said.
