RTVE announced the launching in Mexico of the channel Star HD, on January 18th, with their own content, that will include series like Cuéntame and La Señora. The arrival to this country opens the possibility of making agreements with Mexican production companies to co-produce. Az TV Paga is one of them.Rodolfo Domínguez, and María Jesús Pérez -Commercial director and assistant director of International Sales Channels at RTVE, respectively- attended the event. Pérez mentioned that they are in conversations with some Mexican production companies to work jointly and take Latin American content to their audience.“Star TVE arrives in Mexico linked to the experience we have with TVE 24 Horas, which we launched 25 years ago here, as well as thanks to the good response Spanish programs have here. As for agreements with this country, we already have a project that will be very important. It is a series jointly with Mexico. The alliance is quite advanced and we expect that, like this one, there are more cooperation projects with Mexican producers for Star HD and our other channels”, mentioned Pérez.Meanwhile, Domínguez assured that this launching will “complement TVE Internacional and Canal 24 Horas, however, Star HD has the characteristic of being a theme channel for all America and it is focused on entertainment and fiction, in the aim to strengthen our leadership on the international stage and expand the brand in Spain”.During the first quarter of 2016, the channel will be coded and distributed through the various pay TV operators in America.
