Veonet, the OTT platform with contents exclusively in Spanish appears with Carlos Barba -a visionary executive of Hispanic TV in the US- in the role of CEO, and Efrén Carraza -ex Mega TV- as founder, VP and Executive Director of Operations. The launching in beta stage is estimated for the middle of May or beginning of June. It could be entirely operative by summer in the US.“It will be the the only platform in the US that will offer content from any country, exclusively in Spanish. We are currently working with studios like Paramount, with big Hollywood companies, not only to find the most recent films but those from 5 and 10 years ago, as well as a lot of retro programs, like C.H.I.P.S., The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, among others. We are also finding premium Latin American content,” explained Carranza to PRODU.He added that the contents that are not in Spanish will be dubbed into that language. Carranza said that Veonet will be an ideal platform for independent production companies. The subscription model is a basic monthly fee, no contract, that will cost around US$5. Another of Veonet’s features is that it will have an area of virtual reality contents that, for now, can only be accessed via smartphones.
