ViendoMovies celebrates 5 de Mayo programming 29 contemporary Mexican films

Travesía del Desierto is one of the new films shown this week

ViendoMovies offers for the 5 of Mayo week (26th of April to 5th of May) 29 films representative of the best of the Mexican contemporary cinema, in tribute to this important community of the United States Hispanic market. This collection of films includes two new openings. The first one is La última y nos vamos (The last one and then we go), directed by Eva López Sánchez and starred by María of Los Ángeles Ayuso, Antonio Bassols and Rossana Camhi, that narrates the occurrences of a Friday night in Mexico City for people of different social classes. The second film is Travesía del Desierto (Passage from the Desert), directed by Mauritius Walerstin and starred by Humberto Zurita, Claudia the Gatta, Mónica Dionne, Enoc Leaño, Carlos Camera and Gabriela Goldsmith. The 5 de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla and it is a festivity that is celebrated in all the United States. In that date in 1862. the French, with one of the best armies at the time were defeated by the Mexican army, fighting with a disadvantage of 2 to 1. “We in ViendoMovies celebrate the festivities of all the nationalities of the Latino market and we could not pass the importance that the 5th of May has for the biggest community in our market,” says Luis Villanueva, president and CEO of Somos TV.
