Viacom International Studios (VIS) was the business line with biggest growth in income -60%- in the recent fiscal year. The comment was made by Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Americas, during the visit to the set of the new youth series Club 57. “This implies that we don´t see the windows anymore. Each product has its own life,” he adds.

Club 57 (60×60’), Italian-American co-production between Viacom International Studios (VIS), the production company Rainbow from Europe (where Viacom has a minority share) and Rai from Italy, is Viacom´s first project, that is developed at the same time for the Latin American and Italian markets. The series will have its debut in May 2019 on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica and on Rai Italia.

“We decided to do this project with Rainbow and Rai to add the Italian experience and distribute the show worldwide. It is the perfect combination: Nickelodeon´s experience on children´s-youth telenovelas in the region, Rainbow´s experience in children´s-youth content in Europe and Rai´s experience, which is the biggest open TV network in Italy,” commented Pierluigi Gazzolo, presidente, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Americas.

Club 57 is written by Catharina Ledeboer (Grachi, Toni La Chef) with original music by the Latin American singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner. The producción includes an international cast led by Evaluna Montaner, Riccardo Frascari, Isabella Castillo and Andrés Mercado. The series will be made in Spanish with dubbing into Italian.

Gazzolo commented that VIS has already produced around a thousand hours of content. He estimates that by 2019 the studio will have increased 45% in incomes. “We are going to develop more than 12 formats for 2019,” he ended.
