It’s the first time that Carolina Cordero, general director of WAWA, attends Ventana Sur and visits Argentina. In this market, they had the opportunity to present 11 contents with an excellent response.

“As an organization coming to Argentina is paying a pending debt. We got along very well with Bernardo Bergeret at Iberseries and also at Platino Industria, and we agreed to introduce our organization in this market with a content showcase,” explained Cordero.

These contents are at different stages, some in search of a partner for co-production and others in the distribution window. Cordero explained that this content is classified into three: inspiring, inclusive and accessible. “We recently created the Accessibility Committee, where we are working with a group of experts on the study and generation of content accessible to all audiences,” she explained.

She described 2022 as a very positive year. “We already have more than 800 members around the world, with presence in five continents, which makes WAWA truly global,” she highlighted, after commenting that they have attended all the face-to-face events of the audiovisual industry.

They were at the recent MIP Cancun with more than 70 accredited members, 10% of the list of accredited members of the event. “WAWA stomps,” she said, adding that in Ventana Sur they also had a significant percentage of attendees.

She assured that this year they’ve consolidated, thanks to the association with Lifetime, the mentoring program, which allowed the training of eight women, for more than 70 academic and mentoring hours in different areas of production. One of them, Perla Atanasio, traveled to MIP Cancun thanks to WAWA and Lifetime to present the project on-site. “We are very happy with this experience and we are going to repeat it next year,” she said.
