The directors of WAWA, mentoring leaders and collaborators conducted their first virtual encounter with 31 women from 11 countries connecting, thanks to the organization of Roxana Rotundo, CEO of VIP 2000 TV.

In the meeting they announced the first summon for WAWA Projects, a contest that will boost women in the audiovisual industry in spreading their projects. The contest rules will be uploaded to their website and the methodology will be adapted to the circumstances generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

They also presented WAWA´s communication plan and discussed the scope of A&E Networks´ alliance with Lifetime, that will boost cooperation in events, productions, and disemmination of their goals on platforms such as Mujeres Siendo Mujeres and Juguemos Igual en Pantalla. “For Juguemos Igual en Pantalla work days with our mentoring leaders to guide participants in the development of their projects,” explained Cecilia Gómez de la Torre.

Among other topics, they covered the interest in developing online educational projects, conferences, webinars, and other initiatives that are now gaining strength in the context of the campaign they called “Proactive in the light of adversity”.

“We are making history. United, we will have this create a watershed. We are going to prove that we are capable of carrying our companies forward in difficult times and of contributing solutions to keep making progress,” detailed Gómez de la Torre. “This crisis has united us more in the association,” added Liliam Hernández, founder of WAWA.
