Patricia Jasin, VP at TV Azteca Internacional, reported at MIPCOM that the company has a new sales unit that is based on the historical Azteca archives. “A few months ago, we began to sell a great deal of historical material, at first, more sporadically, and now, more. We are selling, for example, all the series that are touring Latin America today, biopics and everything that has a historical background”.

Jasin explained that these sales already comprise a new area in which they have packed this offer, not only to sell to third parties but also to generate their own content through specials or programs based on those archives. In fact, packing has been the verb that has given good results to TV Azteca Internacional. “The truth is we have packed the entire catalog in a very interesting way to generate diverse agreements, without them competing among each other. The key is that you cannot always have the same genre and the same format because there are so many platforms, needs, and audiences that what the international market is demanding is a great deal of variety.”

To MIPCOM, TV Azteca Internacional brought as a novelty Lo Que La Gente Cuenta, episodic series that will soon debut on Azteca 7. They also brought La Academia, which will be on Azteca Uno once again, starting in November. “We sell La Academia as a finished program and we continue commercializing the format, as well as all the Kuarzo formats we have been representing for a year”.
