Nicolás Spinosa of LaDobleA: From my first day in the job, I knew this was the place where I wanted to grow

Nicolás Spinosa, Producer at LaDobleA, was born in Buenos Aires. Before he went into production, he was studying psychology, but one day he visited a commercial filming set and everything changed, from that moment he became fascinated with audiovisual production.

Throughout his career, his pieces have been awarded in countless festivals including Festival El Sol, Grand Prix TV Diente 2016 (Círculo de Creativos Argentinos) for ConverS.O.S, and Gold and Grand Prix TV at El Ojo de Iberoamérica for Culo y Calzón, both for TyC Sports. At the same time, LaDobleA was awarded in 2017 Production House of the Year at FIAP, due to these recognitions.

Q: How did you become a producer?
NS: I began in 2003 doing production services. I was a freelancer for many years, until 2009 when I had the opportunity of working with LaDobleA, where after six years as production chief I took my firsts steps as in-house producer in 2015. I had the advantage of already knowing directors, agencies, and even many clients.

Q: What is what you most enjoy about your profession?
NS: I enjoy team work very much. I understand clearly the roles of each department, and is important to know how to listen to different opinions. I think it’s important to imbue your crew with a common goal: making the most impactful possible commercial. Obviously, there are different types of scripts, but the key is turning it around in such way that the film results better.

Q: Which have been your most recent projects?
NS: In recent years the most important projects have been the campaign for TyC Sports, which won national and international awards (4 Gran Prix at El Ojo de Iberoamérica and FIAP). For me is a pleasure doing projects related to football, it’s something I have in my blood.
I also manage campaigns for important clients such as Frávega, Cablevisión-Fibertel, Movistar, YPF, and Danone.

Q: How would you describe your experience at LaDobleA?
NS: From my first day in the job, I knew this was the place where I wanted to grow. Professionalism was in each project, and at the same time the work environment felt comfortable. José Arnal and Esteban Sapir always made me feel part of the company. At LaDobleA I am continuously learning and being challenged.

Q: How do you envision the future of advertising?
NS: Advertising will continue to change as usual. The biggest challenge today is the paradigm shifts in communication and the new formats. We have years learning and adapting to new things, and I feel this will continue always. Nowadays everything is happening in the social networks, and there is where we are aiming strategically.

Q: Where’s Nicolás Spinosa heading in the future?
NS: My first goal is positioning LaDobleA as an internationally recognized production house. Personally, I will continue growing with each project and learning every day. We’re living great times as producers because many platforms are being created enabling us to stand out. This platform diversity means that my future will continue with solid ground within advertising, but with opportunities to develop series and also feature films.
