One of the Mexican filmmaker, Emigdio González-Mollä, from Shooters Films, interests is to take his vision to new markets, mainly the Hispanic market.
His firm as a director has been to make each project with a fresh, updated treatment, seeking an interesting and different visual technique. 1. What is your first memory with a camera?
Ufff, to use my dad’s camera behind his back and to erase family films.
2. When did you decide you would devote your life to directing?
When I went to my first shooting, I was amazed at how a team of people could manage to produce such incredible things and have fun along the way. I fell in love with the challenge of everything I could do.
3. Do you have any fiction Project currently?
Yes, I just launched a fashion film called “Slow Bullet”, that talks about sexual harassment with an empowering focus for women that fosters personal defense. It has been well-received in Europeand just won 4th place in the Cut The Gap! Festival in Vienna, Austria and is being chosen to take part in other festivals. It is already online for the entire world and the second phase of the project is on its way: Personal defense activations.
4. Where do you find inspiration?
In social networks, definitely. I am fascinated by how visual language evolves so rapidly and new storytelling formats are created that give us the possibility to tell stories in a fresher way. There is where I am on the look for the newest things that are happening.
5. How do you see the future of advertising?
Increasingly closer to people, with more honest ideas and more impact on young people.
6. Where is Emigdio heading to for the future?
I am definitely aiming to consolidate a position in the US market, and after that, to make my feature film.
