Webinar 1 PRODU AMC Networks Esports

The first Esports Talks AMC Networks International – Latin America: Introduction to the World of Esports webinar took place on Wednesday, November 4. AMCNI-LA´s venture into esports has been a natural step, being an entertainment company with huge experience in brands consumed by loyal and very passionate audiences. Hence, starting this year, they have embraced this universe to contribute to the strengthening and expansion of this ecosystem in Latin America.

The goal of these webinars, made together with PRODU, is to talk about electronic sports to analyze this huge arena that is becoming more and more consolidated in the region.

During this first webinar, Iris Córdoba, general director of Global Sports Innovation Center, powered by Microsoft, highlighted that brands´ challenge is to adapt to the esports audience and how they consume, and that is why they are constantly testing new things. “You cannot copy what is done in traditional sports; the challenge is to talk to viewers, talk with the players and align brand expectations with what is truly happening in esports,” she commented.

For his part, Leo de Biase, co-founder and Chief Relationship Officer at BBL, recommends that you consult with and be advised by experts because there is a great deal of information, a huge offer, and many opportunities to do business.

“Our audience is very demanding, so things have to be done well because there is a high risk for things to come out the other way around,” said Thiago de Mattos, Operations Manager in en Gaming Culture/Representative of Esports Charts Brazil.

Both de Biase and de Mattos forecast a good 2021 with a return to face-to-face events and a big investment by publishers who won a lot of money during the pandemic, as a way to thank their community.

Córdoba is a bit more cautious and thinks that, because of the crisis generated by the pandemic, sponsors will be more conservative when deciding where to invest.
