NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, a division of NBCUniversal, today joins Waze for Broadcasters, the program that provides powerful tools and content to TV stations to research, create and display accurate and relevant traffic news and information for local audiences. Waze for Broadcasters is powered by Waze, the everyday driving platform that allows drivers to outsmart traffic.

With millions of Waze users located in U.S. and Puerto Rico markets where a local NBC and Telemundo owned station is present, Waze for Broadcasters provides NBC and Telemundo stations instant access to Waze Complete Traffic Intelligence, a combination of historical and real-time traffic information shared directly by local drivers to make traffic reporting even more accurate, and using GPS and driving easier.

The NBC and Telemundo owned station group expands the Waze for Broadcasters program to its television stations after NBC Bay Area and Telemundo 48 successfully implemented the same program in 2017.

“Waze for Broadcasters has been a hit with NBC Bay Area and our audiences since the program launched here a couple of years ago. We’re pleased the program is expanding to our sister NBC/Telemundo stations, to help them enhance their traffic news reporting and deliver even more accurate traffic information to the audiences they serve,” said Stephanie Adrouny, VP of News, NBC Bay Area.

“This partnership is especially exciting because we are collaborating with even more stations to provide real-time traffic updates and help broadcasters share stories with their cities’ viewers first. Through the Waze for Broadcasters program and efforts by our partners, we are collectively tackling congestion and other global mobility issues,” said Mona Weng, Global Lead of Waze for Broadcasters.
