beIN SPORTS awarded principal rights package for La Liga and Copa del Rey

La Liga awarded beIN SPORTS the rights to batch 6 of La Liga rights, corresponding to the broadcast of 8 matches every league match day, one of which will always be either Real Madrid or FC Barcelona, as well as one Clásico per season, in addition to the corresponding pay-per-view rights to the Copa del Rey. The award of this rights package now means that the beIN SPORTS channel will be able to offer its subscribers the very best content from the world of football starting next season: 8 La Liga matches each match day, the complete Champions, the complete Europa League, as well as all the major leagues and international competitions. La Liga published this Thursday December 3rd the results of the auction it announced last November and has granted batch 6 to beIN SPORTS, having deemed that the company had presented the best economic offer for La Liga. Nasser Al Khelaifi, Chairman and CEO of beIN Media Group says “We entered the Spanish market a few months ago with the commitment to build the best and most comprehensive sports offering in Spain. We have delivered on that commitment by investing significantly in the UEFA Champions league and by further adding other major European leagues. For its part, Mediapro highlighted the fact that by incorporating these rights beIN SPORTS has become the reference channel for football fans, “confirming the significant role Mediapro has been playing in the development and projection of Spanish football”.
