Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna set up a new production company

Diego Luna estará en la cuarta temporada de Narcos
The actors, producers, and directors Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna presented La Corriente del Golfo, their new production company in Mexico. The company will enable the production of cinema, theater, and television projects, and will serve as a platform for community projects.
“In this company, we will make the projects we have been doing and new ones in the future, together with the participation of other people with whom we share a deep friendship and a strong impetus to improve the world we live in,” said García Bernal.
“This new path we are starting on together thanks to the friendship and fondness we have always shared, will be a path of creative freedom and congruency. From Mexico, we will let ourselves get carried away to where these stories lead us, and the partnerships we generate along the way,” added Diego Luna.
The first projects of the production company are Chicuarotes, a film directed by Gael García Bernal. The shootings ended in January in San Gregorio de Atlapulco; and the series Aquí En La Tierra, by Gael García Bernal and Kyzza Terrazas, in a co-production with FOX, the only Latin American series to compete in the first edition of Canneseries.
The name of the production company, which will be led by Paula Amor, reminisces the oceanic current between the Gulf of Mexico and the Northern Atlantic, that prevents the area from being a tundra desert. The idea of freedom, like fluids, and the life it provides, is part of what they will reflect in their activities.
