Whit Richardson left Warner Bros. Discovery, and while bidding farewell to his former staff he recalled his first steps at Turner Argentina and highlighted that the Latin American team provided the new company with a prosperous, integrated, and multi-faceted business.

“A business that we have built and integrated together, and that is among the main leaders in Latam in several areas: from basic to premium pay-TV, from streaming to gaming, from movies to home entertainment, consumer products, and sports. Many of those businesses have developed over the years through organic growth, or through successful acquisitions and integrations. For example, recently our unique position in the soccer business in the region, our incredible growth in terms of local production in all genres and segments, and the successful launch and positioning of HBO Max for Latam”, he said.

“Is a new chapter, and I trust that the success story will continue. I would be lying if I said that I am not sad about not being able to continue as part of your team on this wonderful journey in Latin America,” he concluded.

Gehard Zeiler, President of the new Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) International, recognized that Richardson’s impact on the regional business has been exceptional and that his contributions over the last twenty years are invaluable.

“Whit guided the business through several organizational shifts, proving to be an inspiring, empathic, and strategic leader. And at each stage, we develop diverse, collaborative, and united teams. Among other things, he was responsible for the business integration of HBO and later of Warner Bros. in the region, giving birth to a single WarnerMedia organization in Latin America. Ultimately, he played a pivotal role in the successful launch of HBO Max in the region, working closely with our colleagues across the organization,” he said.
