The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, or AHAA, has announced that Alain Groenendaal, president and CEO of Grey Latin America, is to be a new member of its Board of Directors.Groenendaal will continue to supervise operations at the New York-based multicultural agency Wing, part of Grey Global Group, after leading it for three years.”Alain Groenendaal is a great addition to our AHAA board. He has all the experience and vision our organization needs at a time when Hispanic advertising and public relations are branching out in a really exciting way, said AHAA President Roberto Orci.A New York-born executive of French and Dutch descent and married to a Puerto Rican, Groenendaal loves Latin culture. His background has endowed him with a wide understanding of consumers everywhere, as well as a command of four languages.For more than a decade, AHAA has been a rich resource for the Hispanic marketing community, and Im very proud to join its Board of Directors, said Groenendaal. With the growing Latino population and the increasing power of Hispanic influence on all cultures, theres never been a more exciting time to be on the board.Part of Groenendaals professional career includes positions with La Comunidad and Leo Burnett, along with a number of posts in the United States, Brazil, Chile and Puerto Rico, serving such iconic brands as McDonalds, Diageo, DIRECTV, Citibank, Shell, Gatorade, Eli Lilly, Walt Disney, Procter & Gamble and Visa.
