BBC World News announced the results of the global survey on news consumption in the digital age. The research was conducted among 3,600 owners of digital devices in Australia, Singapore, India, UAE, South Africa, Poland, Germany, France and the U.S., to determine the growing impact of television, smartphones, tablets and laptops in the news consumption habits.The selected respondents had at least three devices to the TV, tablet, smartphone and laptop or desktop. The survey found that instead of competing different platforms complement each other.Smartphones and laptops are more popular in work activities, reaching its greatest popularity at 1:00 pm. As for television when greater use begins at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, is more used than any other device. It was also determined that 42% use television as a primary device when relevant news, then the 66% opt for internet to delve into the story.Jim Egan, managing director of BBC Global News said, “avid news consumers are hungry for information wherever they are and hope to be in touch with all devices that have.
