The fact of being streamed, of introducing many categories not included by other awards, and having enough time for the winners to elaborate on their interventions, make the PRODU Awards ‟a marvel”, said Mexican presenter Alan Tacher, who for the first time was a host of the event.

“I think that they deserve an award, not only for those who were on screen but also to those behind the scenes. I am delighted because we can thank everyone, talk as long as we want so you can know more about the lives of all these Spanish-speaking people. I like that there are people of all nationalities,” Tacher said at a virtual press conference with media from Mexico and the US Hispanic, along with Roko Izarra, director of PRODU.

Izarra took the opportunity to thank Univisión for “lending” Tacher – one of the main anchors of Despierta América– as host of the awards. He also pointed out that this virtual format of the awards, product of the pandemic, can now be seen on Imagen TV, on a TV Azteca signal, and on a channel of the Ángel González group of companies.

PRODU’s director added that the ultimate goal is to present live the event, including a live red carpet, and to be broadcast in all territories. “There are many more categories to include, but the idea is to have a kind of Golden Globe, where the whole competition takes place in the same venue, under one roof. This is a differential value. We’re getting there,” he said.
