Azteca announces restructuring of its pay-TV business with the launch of AZ TV and the reinvention of some of its channels

Azteca announced the launch of AZ TV de Paga, a business unit that creates, manages, and controls the company’s pay-TV content and channels worldwide. The announcement also mentioned important infrastructure changes such as the use of a new satellite, master, decoders, and a new look.“We come to Tepal at a great time to offer something new and different, when cable operators are looking for new and better channels in HD, and that’s what we’re announcing at this trade show: the opportunity of having fewer channels with better content, with over 1,800 hours of exclusive material,” told PRODU Fidela Navarro, director of Pay TV of Azteca.The company is offering a portfolio of four channels without sub-brands, in HD, with content available for VOD partners, in addition to being original and in Spanish. The AZ TV de Paga channels are: AZCorazón, features telenovelas produced by Azteca, but also offers sitcoms, dramas, youth, retro and recently-released premium content; AZClic, dedicated to the young lifestyle; Azteca Internacional, which undergoes a reinvention after 15 years in the air, becoming AZMundo, with realities, game shows and news; and AZCinema, a catalog with the best Mexican films of all time.
